Week of November 2

Early Dismissal

Friday, November 6, is the end of the 2nd grading period so we have early dismissal at 12:00. Please make arrangements to pick your student up at that time.

Aftercare will be open until 3:00

Absences–In-person Learner

Student attendance is calculated on the instructional setting chosen. An in person learner cannot just opt to stay home and do distance learning that day. If your student is sick, there is a death in the family, or another reason they are unable to come to school please notify attendance at hpa_sfw.attendance@hpafortworth.com or call the school at 817-600-6269. Going on a family vacation or just just not wanting to get up is not an excused absence. Please remember students must be present 90% of the days school is in session to receive credit.

Absences–Distance Learner

A distance learner cannot opt to just not do work one day and expect it to be an excused absence. If your student is sick, there is a death in the family, or another reason they are unable to complete their online work please notify attendance at hpa_sfw.attendance@hpafortworth.com or call the school at 817-600-6269. Please remember students must be present 90% of the days school is in session to receive credit.

All distance teachers in grades K-3 have set small group times and all distance teachers have open Zoom times for students to get help throughout the day. If your distance learner is struggling please make sure they are getting on Zoom with the teacher.

Also, doing your student’s work or giving them the answers hurts the student much more than it helps them. Teachers need to know where the student struggles so that they can help. It is very obvious to a teacher when work is done by an adult rather than a child. So please allow your student to succeed or fail on their own.

Turning Right vs, Turning Left

Mr. Hudson videoed some of drop off last week and it takes a car 30 seconds or more to be able to turn left whereas it only takes about 10 seconds to turn right. The line is backing up due to people not turning right. The police and a fire truck came out last week after someone called about unsafe conditions. Turning left takes too long and puts that vehicle in more danger of having an accident. So please turn right as you leave the parking lot. It helps the line not back up and is the safest way to exit onto Crowley Road.

Uniforms
Reminder about  uniforms:
1. Red or Navy polo WITH logo
2. Khaki pants, skirts, shorts, or jumpers (NO NAVY)
3. HPA plaid shirts or jumpers
4. Closed toe shoes
5. Black, navy, white or red leggings or long sleeve shirt under polo
